History
|
West Midland's aluminium treatment specialist LBParkes
(a division of Metal Finishing Ltd) has been a familiar
name in the finishing industry for over 70 years. Leonard
Burton Parkes, a former science teacher and finishing
pioneer, founded the company in 1933; it was one of
the first two metal finishing firms in the country to
receive MOD quality approval. That recognition has continued
over the years, through CAA endorsement and early assessment
to BS5750 (again one of the first companies in its sector),
to ISO 9001:2000 and now working towards the environmental
standard of ISO 14001:2004 and 18001 OHAS.
As the longest established anodising company in the
UK we have a wealth of experience to offer. At
present we provide Sulfuric Anodising in Etched in a
variety of colours (Black, Gold, Red, Blue, Purple and
natural/Silver)
The
use of titanium and aluminium jig in the anodising
processes is comprehensive and most components can
be accommodated without trouble. But often, where
we can advise on requirements of the finishing process
at an early design stage, savings can be made on the
overall processing costs. For example, integration
of extra jigging location holes into component design
- produced at minimal cost and with no effect on functionality
at machining or stamping stage, can have a dramatic
effect on component throughput.
Advanced jig design is also used to enable components
with difficult geometries to be processed, with pre-treatment
and post-treatments integrated if necessary
We
also offer powder-coating facilities, both hand spraying
and automated. From a few to tens of thousands
of parts we have the capability to provide a quality
finish on a variety of materials.
Complimenting
our Sulfuric Anodising and Powder-Coating we also offer
Alocrom 1200, Alocrom 1000 and Chromate free conversion
coatings.
